Our Collision Reconstruction Experts are Mark Littler BA, DipMATH, MITAI and David Winstanley DipASM, MITAI, LCGI. Both retired Police Officers with a total service of 55 years.
Between them they have spent over 40 years investigating road traffic accidents and road vehicle related incidents. As dedicated full time collision investigators for the police for some 10 years each, they gathered a wealth of experience and expertise attending incident scenes, gathering evidence and reporting their findings. Since leaving the police service they have been working in private practice at Keith Borer Consultants Ltd, however, in 2015 they decided to pool their expertise and start their own company.
Mark and Dave are already well known to many legal practitioners and will continue to offer a dedicated and professional service, in both civil and criminal cases, to old and new clients alike.

Mr Littler provides expert assistance to many police forces when serving police officers are involved in serious traffic related incidents.
Mr Winstanley has investigated and/or reported on over 2000 road related incidents, including over 300 fatal collisions.
Personal qualifications and experience relating to Collision Reconstruction
Mark Littler, BA, Dip. Math, MITAI
Mr Littler was a serving police officer with Greater Manchester Police for over 25 years before joining the Road Traffic Accident investigation team at Keith Borer Consultants in 2011. At GMP he spent 16 years in the Road Traffic Department of which 10 years were spent as a specialist Forensic Collision Investigator from 1997 to 2007.
During his time in the Forensic Collision Investigation Unit, he was responsible for the investigation of a great many fatal and serious injury road traffic collisions involving all types of vehicles, including motorcycles. He was a unit tutor and file validation officer to other members of the Forensic Collision Investigation Unit.
Mr Littler has been a keen motorcyclist for many years and is experienced in all aspects of motorcycle maintenance and performance. His expertise in the field of motorcycle collisions was recognised when he was specifically requested by the Isle of Man Constabulary to assist in the investigation of fatal accidents during the TT races. He has also been a keen cyclist for over 35 years and currently owns and uses a number of pedal cycles of all types.
Mr Littler is a Member of the Institute of Traffic Accident Investigators and has the following qualifications:

Mr Littler continues his work in Road Traffic Accident investigation, including developing his speciality in the investigation of motorcycle accidents in both the criminal and civil fields. He regularly gives presentations to barrister and solicitor groups on various aspects of Collision Investigation. He has prepared and/or given evidence in cases in England, Wales and Scotland, at Magistrates’, Crown, Sheriff, High and Coroner’s Courts.
Littler Winstanley Consultantants operates a Continuous Professional Development Scheme. Within this scheme Mr Littler undertakes regular training and development in the field of Road Traffic Collision Investigation/Vehicle Examination, including attending conferences and relevant training courses.
David Winstanley DipASM, LCGI, MITAI
Mr Winstanley was a serving police officer for 30 years, 10 years of which were as a specialist Forensic Collision Investigator, Mr Winstanley joined the private sector in 2010 working as a Senior Consultant in Collision Investigation and Vehicle Examination. Mr Winstanley found that he was predominantly called on by the prosecution whilst a serving police officer, but since leaving the police and for the last 8 years his evidence has usually been requested by the Defence in criminal matters. Mr Winstanley has an even split regarding Civil cases, being some 50% for the Claimant and 50% for the Defendant. Mr Winstanley, has has successfully reconstructed and/or reported on over 2000 road accidents, including over 200 fatal collisions. He has presented evidence as an expert in Europe as well as the UK to The Special Criminal Court, Court Martial, High Court, Crown Court, Sheriff Court, Magistrates’ Court and Coroner’s courts on numerous occasions.
Mr Winstanley is a Member of the Institute of Traffic Accident Investigators and has the following qualifications:

--- Licentiateship to the City & Guilds London in Collision Investigation (LCGI)

Mr Winstanley was a Police Advanced Driver, specialist 4x4 trained (on and off road) pursuit trained and holds both HGV and PCV entitlement. He has been a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists for over 38 years. He has also been trained to advanced level in Road Safety Audits and provides expert evidence/advice relating to road safety. Over a period of 20 years, he has also developed specialist skills in analysis of CCTV and dashcam imagery of accidents, attending courses, working alongside other experts in this field and completing research with specialist imaging departments in the police and private practice. His work has been recognised on numerous occasions when he has received awards and commendations for work in this field.
Mr Winstanley provides expert evidence relating to the examination of vehicles, identification of stolen vehicles and vehicle parts and is regularly trusted with sensitive information. He is a member of the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI)
